设计案例 | 在有限的空间里创造无限的活力:十钢埃舍尔花园
Shanghai, as an international modern metropolis, is enriched with infinite varieties: towering skyscrapers, stylish Shikumen Lane, green streets of Indus, old industrial sites where the spirit of Shanghai is deposited ... In the contemporary context, these various elements blend and collide, making the limited space filled with infinite possibilities.
In the bustling Changning Xinhua community, there is such a colliding point-Shigang Escher Garden.
This "L" -shaped site is in amidst of everything: high-rise business district under construction on the south side, the low-rise Xinhua Road historical and cultural area on the east side, the planned school and cultural center on the south side, and It has been rooted in the Shanghai community for decades, and is close to the 3/10 subway transportation hub.
Historically, she used to be a dairy factory, a ten-steel mechanic workshop, a flower and bird market, a farmer's market, and a restaurant. Looking back on decades of precipitation, this 8,300-square-meter land has provided countless people with a livelihood and has always played a role of "gathering" in the community.

INSPIRATION
The fusion of modernity and history, the interweaving of prosperity and tranquility, and the undulating city skylines have brought unlimited imagination to the base.
When it comes to "infinite possibilities", we immediately think of the works of Dutch printmaker Escher "Up and Down". The tricky artist cleverly conceals infinite possibilities in a limited space. Design inspiration is also derived from this-
Combining a small volume with a multi-level building group,
The modular building volume retreats from the street to the inner layer,
Under the sunshine requirements for residential buildings on the north side
Gradually stacked up a "small mountain",
The rhythmic retreat space creates an infinite "X space",
Users can customize the space to enjoy an endless experience.

CULTURAL
Coming between modernity and history, this project undoubtedly needs to continue both historical culture and the context of modern architecture.
FTA's designers extracted the local “cultural genes” from the history and culture of Xinhua Road, and carefully chose brick red ceramic plates and metal perforated plates on the façade material, combined with bronze metal components, to give the community office a “warm” humanistic atmosphere. The color system of the historical style area of Xinhua Road is coordinated to establish the continuity and unification of the city's historical culture.
In order to echo the tower of the business district on the south side of the base, we have arranged a high-rise building along the street on the south side, and the height of the two single-floor buildings below 24 meters on the north side is similar to the height of the surrounding buildings, allowing this new building to integrate perfectly with the bigger urban landscape.

“Escher Garden”, “Continuity and Innovation of Culture”, and “Infinite Experience”, these characteristics have shaped the uniqueness of Shigang Xinhua Project in the region. Commercially, it has provided complementary products to the region and brought about a misplaced competitive market with differentiated office products in the surroundings. In the future, we believe that this land will continue to play the role of "gathering" and bring unlimited imagination to more people.
